Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola, commented on Egyptian international star Omar Marmoush’s stellar performance in his team’s match on Saturday against Newcastle United.
Marmoush led his team Manchester City to a 4-0 victory over Newcastle United, scoring a hat-trick, in the 25th round of the English Premier League.
In statements to the media issued after the match, Guardiola said: “Marmoush was very good. He was excellent and brilliant in the German league and he has quality and speed.”
“He is a player who seizes opportunities and is well positioned in important positions. He had opportunities in the past and did not translate them into goals, but today he seized these opportunities.”
He added that “The result is great and the match reminds us of past seasons. This is the performance that Manchester City should present against a big team like Newcastle United.”
“I try to send messages to the players, but I do not always succeed. We adjusted many situations with a performance with a lot of focus.”
“The performance was extraordinary today. I am very happy and we have three months left in the season so we can find solutions in the league and the Champions League”, Guardiola added.
“We have to face the toughest teams this season like Liverpool, Aston Villa and all the teams we will face at the Etihad. We want to get our happiness back because we have been through a lot of hardships.”
Marmoush said about his goals against Newcastle United: “It’s an unnatural feeling, my first hat-trick in my football career.”
Speaking to the beIN Sports network, Marmoush added: “I showed myself today, and I’m happy with the goals and the three points, and we will focus on the upcoming match against Real Madrid.”
