Weather alert for Egypt: Heatwave peak continues on Saturday

The Meteorological Authority has issued a warning regarding Saturday’s expected weather conditions in Cairo and the governorates, as the region experiences the peak of the heatwave.

Temperatures in Cairo are expected to reach a record high of during the day, while Southern Upper Egypt will record .

In its official statement, the Meteorological Authority announced the continued formation of dense water mist, reaching the level of fog, during the early morning hours over parts of the northwestern coasts, Lower Egypt, Greater Cairo, the northeastern coasts, Canal cities, and central Sinai.

The Authority stressed the need for caution while driving to ensure the safety of pedestrians and passengers.

Weather experts advised wearing appropriate autumn clothing due to the contrast between high daytime temperatures and dropping temperatures at night, to prevent catching colds during this time of year.

Saturday’s weather is forecast to be hot during the day, moderate during the early hours of the night, and tending to be cool in the late night and early morning across most areas.

Regarding the Mediterranean Sea, conditions will be moderate, with wave heights ranging from to meters and surface winds being north-easterly.

For the Red Sea, conditions will also be moderate, with wave heights ranging from to meters and surface winds being north-westerly.
