“We are well aware of what is being plotted against us”: Sisi

During the celebration of the Prophet’s Birthday, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi sent a message to the Egyptian people affirming that Egypt is well aware of what is being plotted against it.

Speaking at the official celebration of the Prophet’s Birthday at the Al Manara International Conferences Center, the President said: “I reassure the great Egyptian people of our vigilance and our awareness of what is happening around us and what is being plotted against us. We stand in the face of challenges with well-studied measures, confident in the help of Almighty God, based on the resilience of our people, and relying on our own capabilities to provide a safe and stable life for our citizens throughout the nation.”

“No matter how many faces of evil multiply and their methods vary, Egypt will, God willing, remain steadfast, resistant to plots, and resilient in the face of all challenges.”

The official spokesperson for the Presidency, Mohamed al-Shennawy, stated that the event included Sisi honoring a number of scholars and religious leaders from Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and the Ministry of Endowments with the Order of Science and Arts of the First Class, in appreciation for their efforts in serving religion and the nation.

The President also posthumously awarded the Medal of Merit of the First Class to the late Khaled Mohamed Shawky Abdel Aal, a petroleum truck driver who died after a gas tanker caught fire at a gas station in the 10th of Ramadan area.

He served as a shining example of heroism and sacrifice, giving his life for his colleagues and citizens at the scene of the incident in an extraordinary act that embodies altruism and courage.

The celebration was attended by: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly; the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Ahmed al-Tayeb; Minister of Endowments, Osama al-Azhary; and the Grand Mufti of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Nazir Mohamed Ayyad, in addition to the speakers of the House and Senate, a number of ministers, and other senior officials.
