Ahmed Abdel Aal, head of the General Meteorological Authority, said low and medium level clouds will be heavy in the north and east of the country and in north Upper Egypt on Thursday, accompanied by rainfall ranging between light to moderate in strength.
There will be thunderstorms and heavy rain starting from Thursday and lasting until Saturday, especially on the north coast and in central Sinai. Rain will be medium in strength in Lower Egypt, Cairo and north Upper Egypt starting Thursday, he said.
Temperatures will also decrease starting Thursday. Wind will be active, increasing the feeling of coldness and disrupting navigation in both the Mediterranean and Red seas.
The peak of this unstable wave will be next Friday, the authority said in a statement Monday. The statement warned of frost on plantations in north Upper Egypt and central Sinai.
Weather temperatures will range between 13 and 14 C in the north and North Sinai, 12 and 14 C in Lower Egypt and Cairo, 15 and 16 C in north Upper Egypt, 16 and 18 C on south Upper Egypt, and 19 to 21 C in South Sinai.
The authority warned officials to take precautionary measures in Alexandria, Matrouh and south and noth Sinai.
