Ayham Yassmineh, criminal intelligence officer of the Interpol Middle East and North Africa program, has announced the completion of a training program for the law enforcement bodies in Egypt, aimed at combating the trafficking in illicit goods and counterfeiting in the Middle East. The program fosters the use of the latest and most advanced methods of crime prevention and detection, as well as the exchange of information in this regard.
In a related context, Egyptian Interpol Director Hassan Abul Ela has announced the start of a campaign entitled the “Watchful Eyes of Egypt,” aimed at strengthening consumer awareness of the dangers related to counterfeit goods and their impact on the national economy. The 60-day campaign will be launched on 1 May.
