The Wafd Party is fielding 276 candidates for the House of Representatives elections slated for October 18, its supreme board said late Saturday as it announced the start of campaigns for its runners.
The party said 264 of its candidates are vying for individually seats, while nine will compete for the proportional lists. It added that its slate includes 17 women.
The House of Representatives consists of 568 seats, including 448 elected individually and 120 elected through list-based candidacies.
