Video: Pyramids Club football team places its name in the Egypt Cup champions’ list

The Pyramids Club football team successfully placed its name in the list of champions for the Egypt Cup, the oldest Egyptian championship, after becoming the thirteenth team to win the championship title.

The Pyramids achieved a difficult victory over its counterpart ZED FC, with a late goal in the 87th minute scored by Congolese international Fiston Mayele.

The Pyramids reached the Egypt Cup final on two previous occasions, losing to Zamalek 3-0 in the 2019-2020 season, and to Al-Ahly in the 2021-2022 final, 2-1, to succeed in its third attempt to win its first title ever.

The Pyramids were preceded in the list of Egypt Cup champions by 12 teams: Al-Ahly with 39 titles, Zamalek with 28 titles, Tersana and Al-Ittihad of Alexandria with six titles, Arab Contractors with three titles, Al-Olympi, Ismaili, Enppi and Haras al-Hodoud with two titles for each team, and one title for each of Al-Tram, Al-Qanah and Al-Masry of Port Said.
