Netflix’s “Mank” (2020) from filmmaker David Fincher is leading the 93rd annual American Academy of Film Arts Oscar Awards, with ten honors including Best Film, Best Actor for Gary Oldman, Best Director, and Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Amanda Seyfried.
Released on December 4 and shot in black-and-white, the film narrates the golden age of Hollywood.
Its competition includes the likes of “Nomadland,” directed by Chloe Zhao and starring Frances McDormand, which earned six nominations alongside “The Trial of the Chicago 7” directed by Aaron Sorkin, starring Sacha Baron Cohen.
