Video: Egypt’s winter season officially starts on December 21, says meteorologist

The head of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority’s Analysis and Forecast Center Mahmoud Shahin announced that Sunday is the official beginning of Egypt’s winter season.

During an interview with anchor Rasha Magdy on the Sada al-Balad TV channel, Shahin said that weather conditions would be stable for Sunday and the beginning of winter season appears reassuring.

He warned drivers to be careful as mists would grow denser around agricultural roads and water surfaces

He also confirmed that light rains are expected over the northern coasts.

The weather’s stability is predicted to continue for the Christmas holidays on December 23 and 24, Shahin said, and advised citizens to begin wearing heavy clothing at nightfall as some areas will see temperatures drop to lower than 12 degrees.
