Under the directive of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population announced sending LE14 million in medical aid to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
The 65-ton shipment included supplies for surgery, burns, cosmetics, and infection control, in addition to oxygen cylinders, face masks, ventilators, solutions pumps, emergency operating supplies, and medical machines for major and minor surgeries.
Also included were anesthesia drugs, ointments, painkillers, and antibiotics.
Egypt continues to take on a helpful leadership role in Gaza as the Israeli air strikes continue for the ninth day. The country has also pledged US$500 million toward reconstruction efforts and opened its hospitals in North Sinai to care for the wounded.
