The Palestinian delegation has called for a ban on Israeli athletes from the Olympic Games due to the on-going war in Gaza.
Large crowds welcomed Palestinian athletes participating in the Paris Olympics on Thursday with food and flowers, as they arrived at France’s main airport in preparation to represent their war-torn nation.
The Paris Olympic Games’ Opening Ceremony has gotten underway after a rocky start, after sabotage targeted France’s leading high-speed rail network and the River Seine saw rainy skies.
The sporting spectacle runs from July 26 to August 11.
