Meteorologists predict very hot weather on Sunday during the daytime on Cairo, Lower Egypt, Upper Egypt, and the northwestern coasts, with hot weather on the northeastern coasts.

Moderate weather is expected across the country by nightfall.

Temperatures predicted for the following cities are: 38C in Alexandria, Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada, 40C in Cairo, Qena, and Luxor, and 41C in Aswan.

Maximum and minimum humidity levels are: the northern coasts 40-80, Cairo and Lower Egypt 30-75, northern Upper Egypt 20-45, and southern Upper Egypt 15-30.

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) explained in a statement that the country is currently being affected by the Indian summer monsoon, which is typical every summer and makes the country’s weather hotter and more humid.

Winds will be northwestern and moderate across most of Egypt, active on Cairo and the northwestern coasts and blowing up sand and dust, while disrupting maritime navigation in the Red Sea.

Waves in the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea will be moderate to rough, ranging between two and 2.5 meters in height.

Surface winds will be northwestern on the Red Sea, while southwestern to northwestern on the Mediterranean Sea.
