The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population announced Friday that coronavirus vaccination units and centers will be working daily in two shifts, from nine until three pm, and from seven pm until 10 pm.
The spokesperson for the ministry Hossam Abdel-Ghaffar said that the ministry has so far received 150 million doses of eight different coronavirus vaccines, and noted that Egypt was the first country in Africa to enter the safe zone for vaccine providing.
Egypt did not witness a shortage of medicines or medical supplies during the pandemic, he assured.
Abdel-Ghaffar noted that the number of hospitals designated to isolate coronavirus patients was reduced, in conjunction with the decrease in the number of infections due to expanded campaigns for vaccination.
Egypt was able in a short time to provide all coronavirus vaccines, including Sinovac, Sinopharm, AstraZeneca, Sputnik, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, and Moderna, as part of the state’s plan to diversify and expand the provision of coronavirus vaccines.
The Ministry of Health and Population called on citizens to register on the ministry’s website to receive the vaccine, stressing that the state spares no effort in providing vaccines to citizens for free, through permanent cooperation with international organizations and bodies.
