Exchange rates at the National Bank of Egypt (NBE), Bank Misr, and al-Qahira Bank settled at LE15.92 for purchase and LE16.02 for sale.
The dollar recorded LE15.89 for purchase and LE15.99 for sale at Alexandria Bank.
The dollar declined by three piasters, however, at Audi Bank, Suez Canal Bank and Arab Bank, recording LE15.89 for purchase, and LE15.99 for sale.
Dollar prices increased by three piasters at LE15.91 for purchase and LE16.01 for sale at Audi Bank, Suez Canal Bank, and Arab Bank.
The exchange rate increased by one piasters at the Commercial International Bank (CIB), Housing and Development Bank, the Arab African International Bank (AAIB), Credit Agricole, the National Bank of Kuwait (NBK), the United Bank of Egypt, al-Baraka Bank, and HSBC, recording LE15.92 for purchase, and LE16.02 for sale.
Dollar prices settled at LE15.92 for purchase and LE16.02 for selling at Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB).
Egypt devalued its currency by 48 percent in 2016, allowing it to float freely in order to meet a key demand by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and secure a three-year US$12 billion loan from the fund.
