The US dollar exchange rate was stable against the Egyptian pound at the beginning of Wednesday morning trading at banks in Egypt.
The National Bank of Egypt (NBE) and HSBC set dollar prices at LE17.73 for selling, and LE17.63 for buying.
Banque du Caire and Bank of Alexandria set dollar prices at LE17.70 for selling, and LE17.60 for buying.
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) and al-Ahli Bank of Kuwait had the dollar at LE17.71 for sale, and buying at LE17.61.
In the Commercial International Bank (CIB) the dollar declined by 2 piastres to LE17.71 for selling, and LE17.61 for buying comparing to Tuesday prices of LE17.73 for selling, and LE17.63 for buying.
The Arab African International Bank, the National Bank of Greece and al-Baraka Bank had the US dollar at LE17.72 for sale, and buying at LE17.62.
Egypt floated the national currency on November 3 and devalued the Egyptian pound by about a third from the former price earnings per growth (PEG) of LE8.8 against the dollar and allowed it to drift lower.
