The United States’ consul in Alexandria toured voting stations in the city's Rushdy district as Egyptians began voting in parliamentary elections on Sunday.
In brief statements during the tour, Stephen G. Fakan said he was observing the voting process as voting stations opened on Sunday and witnessed a "good" turnout thus far.
Fakan told Al-Masry Al-Youm he was checking in on the voting process but says he has no power or authority to comment on how the process is going.
