Three workers were killed and seven others were injured in a collision on Tuesday morning after a truck transporting silt turned over on the agricultural highway in Qaliubiya.
The truck driver lost control and hit a microbus coming in the opposite direction, causing the highway to shut down in both directions.
All the victims were transferred to the nearest hospital.
Security authorities at the scene of the incident moved the truck from the road and reopened it a few hours after the accident.
Egypt maintains one of the highest rates of road accidents worldwide.
