Up to twenty-two appeals filed against results of Egypt’s parliament elections 1st round

Candidates and their representatives filed appeals with the Supreme Administrative Court over the past few hours against results in 19 constituencies in the first round of the first phase of the 2025 parliamentary elections.

These results were nullified by a decision for the National Elections Authority, despite their official announcement on Thursday.

The number of appeals filed has reached approximately 22, and the court has scheduled a session for Monday to review and rule on them.

The head of the National Elections Authority, Hazem Badawy, announced the results of the runoff election in the Itsa constituency in Fayoum Governorate, as well as the results in the 19 constituencies whose results were nullified by the Authority during the first phase of the parliamentary elections.

The court is scheduled to begin reviewing and adjudicating the appeals sequentially, in accordance with established legal procedures, in preparation for announcing the final results for the contested districts.

This will ensure the integrity of the electoral process, uphold the principles of fairness and transparency, and definitively determine the legal standing of candidates in the first phase of the 2025 House of Representatives elections.

The National Elections Authority began receiving appeals from candidates regarding the results in the 30 annulled constituencies across 10 governorates following the announcement of the preliminary vote count on Friday.
