Up to 55 Palestinians killed in Israeli strikes across Gaza

The Israeli army has shelled several areas in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday.

Medical sources in the Strip’s hospitals reported that 55 Palestinians were killed across various neighborhoods, including 34 in Gaza City and 8 people waiting for aid near Rafah.

The Ministry of Health also warned that a delay in bringing in fuel threatens to halt the power generators in hospitals.

Gaza’s Civil Defense announced on Wednesday that dozens of bodies were recovered following a series of Israeli raids that targeted various areas of the Strip, at a time when Israel continues its intensive military operations on Gaza City and refugee camps.

The spokesperson for the Civil Defense, Mahmoud Bassal, told Agence France-Presse (AFP) that 15 people were killed in the past few days, including seven in three raids that targeted a municipal warehouse and tents belonging to displaced people in the Firas market area of central Gaza City.

Additionally, five others were killed in two raids on the Nuseirat Refugee Camp in the central Strip, and three people were killed in other separate raids on Gaza City.

Israeli forces tightened their siege on Gaza City from several main areas, with shelling and demolition operations continuing around the clock.

Images showcase military vehicles positioned in the Al-Karama neighborhood northwest of the city, along with incursions into the Birkat Al-Sheikh Radwan area and Al-Jalaa Street to the north, and Tel Al-Hawa near the universities to the south.

Video clips spread online showing Israeli military vehicles advancing into neighborhoods that residents had not yet left, particularly on Al-Nasr Street in northwest Gaza, where dozens of families are now trapped under a barrage of raids and drone fire.

Press reports further mentioned that ships belonging to the global “Fleet of Steadfastness” attempting to break the siege on Gaza were subjected to drone attacks—believed to be Israeli—in the Mediterranean Sea, resulting in material damage to several of the vessels.
