An official source in North Sinai announced Monday that a new batch of aid trucks have entered the Gaza Strip through the Karem Abu-Salem crossing gate, south of the city of Rafah.
This new batch includes 200 trucks of relief and humanitarian aid, medicines, food, and fuel which have successfully entered Gaza after taking the necessary procedures, the source explained.
The source noted that the trucks were delivered to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) on the Palestinian side for distribution to aid suffering Gazans, noting that each truck carries about 25 tons of various aid.
According to the source, about 950 trucks of relief and humanitarian aid have entered Gaza in the past few days since Israel reopened the Karem Abu-Salem crossing gate, while Gaza needs between 450 to 500 trucks of humanitarian aid and five to six fuel trucks per day.
The source added that the entry of humanitarian, food and relief aid trucks into the Gaza Strip through Karem Abu-Salem crossing gate is a temporary measure until the Rafah land crossing is reopened.
