Up to 10,000 Palestinians face risk of slow death in Gaza’s Al-Shifa Medical Complex

The Ministry of Health in Gaza on Sunday revealed that up to 10,000 people at the Al-Shifa Medical Complex lack basic necessities and are at risk of a slow death.

Essential supplies including food and water, as well as milk for children, have run out amid a siege by the Israeli occupation army, which continues to bomb the hospital’s surroundings and targets everyone who leaves it.

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Health in Gaza said that the occupation targeted a number of people this afternoon as they attempted to leave the Shifa Medical Complex.

“Urgent intervention is necessary to save the situation in Al-Shifa Medical Complex, otherwise we will lose more wounded,” he warned.

He continued: “We have lost all necessities of life in Al-Shifa Medical Complex, and we lose a number of patients every hour. We have lost three premature babies so far.”

The Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health in Gaza Ashraf al-Qidra earlier announced that the Israeli occupation army is now conducting a heavy bombing raid on the vicinity of the Shifa Medical Complex and hospitals in northern Gaza.

The Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health in Gaza added, “Ambulances cannot move as a result of the insane bombing.”

Hossam Badran, a leader of the Hamas movement, said, “The continued bombing in the vicinity of Al-Shifa Hospital belies the occupation’s stories that its forces have reached the hospital.”
