The unusually cold weather around Egypt will continue until Thursday, an official from the General Authority for Meteorology said Tuesday.
Ali Qutb, the official, said in a phone interview with Al-Hayat satellite channel that he expects the lowest temperature Thursday to hit 5C. For Wednesday, he said to expect a high of 12C and low of 7C.
Qutb also told Al-Masry Al-Youm that he predicts heavy rains and strong winds. He warned fishermen of dangerous weather fluctuations in both the Mediterranean and Red seas, especially on the northern coast of the Red Sea. He advised citizens to wear heavy clothing.
Qutb said dust-filled wind is also predicted alongside the cold weather.
Rainfall is expected in the North Coast, Lower Egypt, the northern parts of Upper Egypt and areas north of the Red Sea.
