Prices for the voluntary Islamic Umra pilgrimage have risen by 15 percent, according to Bassel al-Sisi, head of the religious tourism division at the Egyptian Travel Agents Association.
Speaking to Al-Masry Al-Youm, Sisi attributed the increase to a parallel rise in the price of plane tickets and services, as well as currency rates.
Low-cost trips, which begin next week, start at LE4,000, he revealed, adding that four-and five-star programs start from LE6,000.
