UEFA nominates Mo Salah’s goal for Goal of the Week award

The UEFA has nominated a goal scored by Egyptian football star and Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah against Red Bull Salzburg for the UCL Goal of the Week award.

Salah scored the second goal for his team against Salzburg from an “almost impossible” angle, after taking advantage of a mistake made by a defender on the opposing team and the goalkeeper’s exit.

The goal scored by Salah is currently in competition with French football star Houssem Aouar’s goal against RB Leipzig, Dinamo Zagreb player Dani Olmo’s goal against Manchester City, and Felipe Augusto’s goal for Atletico Madrid against Lokomotiv Moscow.

Salah was also recently selected as part of Liverpool’s FIFA World Cup Squad.

The Egyptian football star has been honored with a number of awards. He won African Player of the Year for the second year consecutively in 2018, and he is the fourth African player to snatch the title back-to-back, following El Hadji Diouf, Samuel Eto’o, and Yaya Touré.

He is also the sixth player to win the Golden Boot in back-to-back seasons and claimed the Premier League’s player of the month title once in 2017 and twice in 2018.

Salah broke records last season with 32 goals and led his country into its first World Cup in 28 years. Salah scored 22 goals in the 2018/2019 season, and he has scored 60 goals in total, in addition to 22 assists out of 96 total appearances on the field throughout his Premier League career.
