The United Arab Emirates on Monday denounced sectarian clashes in a Cairo suburb that killed 12 and injured nearly 240.
An official statement by the UAE government said the country “strongly condemns” the attacks on the Saint Mina and Virgin Mary churches in Imbaba on Saturday.
UAE Foreign Minister Anwar Qarqash voiced his country’s solidarity with Egypt. He offered condolences to the victims' families and wished recovery for those injured, stressing the UAE’s disapproval of attacking places of worship.
Qarqash urged Egyptians to resist attempts to sow sedition and plots against their country’s stability.
