UAE air defenses intercept Iranian missile barrage

The UAE Ministry of Defense announced early Wednesday morning on its X account that it had intercepted a barrage of ballistic missiles launched from Iran.

The ministry affirmed its “complete readiness to deal with all threats to ensure the protection of the country’s territory and the safety of its citizens and residents.”

It explained that the sounds heard in various parts of the country were the result of air defense systems intercepting ballistic missiles and fighter jets intercepting drones and other aerial vehicles.

The ministry urged the public to “adhere to the security and safety instructions issued by the relevant authorities.”
