A civilian and his wife were wounded late Tuesday when a mortar missile hit their house in the village of al-Moqataa, North Sinai.
Eye-witnesses speaking to Al-Masry Al-Youm said more than 20 missiles had fallen on the village.
The restive Sinai Peninsula has seen an increasing number of Islamist militants who have claimed responsibility for recurrent fatal attacks against police, army and civilians since the ouster of former Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in 2013.
