Two ships collided on Monday in the eastern branch of the Suez Canal, causing five containers to fall on the deck of one of them in addition to minor damages in its hull.
The accident, however, did not affect the traffic.
A Suez Canal Authority source said the first ship was maneuvering to sail to the south when it collided with the other ship that was among the northbound convoy.
Prosecutors are investigating which ship was responsible for the accident.
