Two police officers were wounded as four unidentified gunmen fired automatic weapons from a moving vehicle at Wardian police station, west of Alexandria.
The same police station has witnessed several earlier attacks with Molotov cocktails. A police car from the station was set on fire in a previous attack.
Police and army forces have endured several bloody attacks across the country, mainly claimed by extremist groups, since the ouster of former president Mohamed Morsy.
Authorities have blamed the Morsy’s Muslim Brotherhood for involvement many attacks, which the group denies.
