Christian Eckmann, the restorer of Tutankhamun’s mask, said he was captivated by the beauty of the piece of art.
Eckmann, who came from the Mainz Romano-Germanic Central Museum in Germany, told the German news agency DPA: “I must admit that the presence of this mask in front of me was a very special moment in my career. And I will sleep better when this beautiful piece is back on display.”
Eckman is removing the epoxy adhesive that was used to put back the chin in a massive faux pas that was broken last year when the mask was taken out of its display window in order to change the lighting.
