A Turkish Airlines plane was forced to land in Algeria on Tuesday following a suicide that occurred on-board the flight.
Turkish Airlines Flight TK619 took off at noon from Istanbul Airport, heading to the Moroccan city of Marrakech, but a foreign passenger – whose nationality was not disclosed – entered the bathroom during the flight and stayed there for a long time.
After the unconscious passenger was removed from the bathroom, first aid was administered to him by the flight crew and a doctor who was among the passengers tried to help him, according to Anadolu Agency.
Following the deterioration of the passenger’s health, the pilot made an emergency landing in Algeria, but after landing, the medical staff that inspected the passenger announced he had passed away.
