
The Egyptian Ministry of Interior announced on Thursday, the arrest of the tuk-tuk driver involved in a sexual harassment incident where he forcibly took money from a foreign woman.
The ministry revealed the circumstances after investigating a viral video on social media that showed a tuk-tuk driver harassing a woman of foreign nationality and robbing her while she was riding a motorcycle in the Al-Imam Al-Shafi’i cemeteries area in Cairo.
Upon investigation, authorities were able to identify and seize the tuk-tuk seen in the video and arrest its driver, a resident of the Manshiyet Nasser police district in Cairo. When confronted, he confessed to committing the crime.
The vehicle was impounded, and legal action was taken against the driver.
