Trump states US will work to resolve GERD dispute between Egypt and Ethiopia

US President Donald Trump affirmed during his NATO meeting at the White House on Monday that the lives of Egypt’s people depend on the Nile River, and that his administration will work to resolve the dispute between Egypt, Sudan, and Ethiopia over the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).

Trump noted that the US funded the GERD, stating: “And I don’t know why?”

The US President also said that he is very frustrated with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, who appears unwilling to make any deal, but that an agreement with him will be reached at some point.

Trump announced that Washington will send weapons to Ukraine, and that Patriot systems will arrive in Kyiv in the coming days, and that Kiev will pay for these weapons.

Trump assured that the US would supply NATO with the best weapons.

He explained that his administration may impose tariffs of up to 100 percent on Russia, and that there would be very severe tariffs on Moscow’s allies if the war in Ukraine did not stop.
