Cairo Criminal Court, presided over by Shaaban al-Shamy, has decided to postpone the prison break lawsuit, in which 131 suspects, including ousted President Mohamed Morsy, until the defense's request against the court panel is reviewed.
The judge recusal request will be reviewed on 1 March.
Among the suspects involved in the lawsuit are Muslim Brotherhood and its international organization leaders, members of Hamas, Hezbollah and others. All face charges of breaking into 11 prisons and police stations as well as kidnapping policemen in February 2011.
Defense of the suspects demanded replacement on judges in lawsuits of prison break and espionage.
In other news, security source told Al-Masry Al-Youm on Monday that Morsy and Refaa al-Tahtawi, former chief of presidential staff, will be transferred to Aqrab prison in Tora prisons area until 27 February, where the espionage lawsuit will be reviewed.
Both suspects are involved in lawsuits of breaking into prisons during 2011 revolution, spying for foreign authorities and killing protesters in December 2012.
Morsy was transferred to Tora prison on Saturday. He was brought from Borg al-Arab prison for the lawsuit of espionage, ahead of being adjourned to Thursday.
