Cairo Criminal Court adjourned on Tuesday the retrial of activist Alaa Abdel Fattah and 25 others for allegedly protesting illegally outside the Shura Council to 6 August.
The 26 suspects were earlier sentenced to 15 years in prison and fined LE100,000 each. They were ordered to be placed under probation for five years.
The public prosecution had earlier accused the defendants of attacking a policeman, robbing his wireless walkie-talkie, beating him, staging protests outside Shura Council without prior permission, blocking roads and damaging public properties.
