The Egyptian economy will achieve a 6-percent growth rate by the end of this year and a 7.6 percent growth rate by 2011, Minister of Trade and Industry Rachid Mohamed Rachid asserted on Monday.
In a speech before the France-Egypt Presidential Business Council (CPFEA) in Paris, Rachid urged the council to devote more attention to the establishment of partnerships between small- and medium-sized enterprises in Egypt and France.
The minister went on to note that Egypt's population and economy were "growing rapidly," making the country one of the region's most important markets.
Participants at the fifth CPFEA conference discussed means of promoting partnerships and joint ventures between Egyptian and French companies and institutions, in addition to ways of attracting more French investment in Egypt.
