Tourism Minister Hesham Zaazou said on Tuesday that November witnessed an increase in Egypt's tourism rates. Around 573,000 tourists arrived to the country last month compared to about 562,000 tourists in October and about 301,000 tourists in November of last year.
Zaazou explained during a conference entitled “Rebuilding Public Diplomacy” that the country needs to stabilize in order to attract more tourists. He noted that the Ministry is taking huge efforts to save the winter season.
Zaazou demanded using public diplomacy, or tourism between countries, as an organized tactic to bolster formal diplomacy. He stated that repeated official and popular visits to different countries strengthens relations between them and Egypt.
He praised the impact of the Egyptian popular delegation's visit to Russia in early November, which led to the Russian government alleviating travel warnings to its citizens regarding Egypt.
