Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities announced on Tuesday discounted flight ticket prices as part of its “Spend Winter in Egypt” initiative.
Airline tickets prices for Egyptians and foreigners are being offered at a flat rate from January 15 to February 28.
-From Cairo or Alexandria to Luxor for LE1,500
-From Cairo or Alexandria to Aswan for LE1800
-From Cairo or Alexandria to Sharm al-Sheikh, Hurghada or Taba for LE1800
-From Cairo or Alexandria to Marsa Alam for LE2,000
Additionally, the Chamber of Hotel Establishments will soon announce discounted prices from hotels that are participating in the initiative, in categories of three, four and five stars.
Hotels will apply promotional rates for accommodation, including tax and services, throughout the period of the initiative, while adhering to the 50 percent occupancy rate and other health safety measures in accordance with COVID-19 precautions.
The ministry stressed the need for all to adhere to all precautionary measures and health safety controls in airports, museums, archaeological sites, restaurants, cafeterias, hotels and tourist buses throughout the offer.
The “Spend Winter in Egypt” initiative was introduced last week by the Supreme Council of Antiquities to encourage domestic tourism.
The initiative also grants a 50 percent discount on entry tickets for Egyptians at the archaeological areas and museums in the governorates of Qena, Luxor and Aswan during the months of January and February.
