Tight security measures around Cairo University amidst fear of Brotherhood protests

High security measures were imposed by central security and military troops at the entrances and exits of roads leading to Cairo University ahead of protests called for by Brotherhood students at Nahda Square.

Armored and central security vehicles were stationed at the entrance of Nahda Square from the Giza Square side, the junction of Nahda and Murad streets, and the junction of Tharwat and University streets. A large number of security personnel were deployed.

Meanwhile, dozens of students from Cairo University’s Faculty of Sciences staged a protest before the faculty demanding the resolution of technical problems in their electronic registrations and the transfer between university departments.
