Thunderstorms & very hot weather for Egypt on Saturday

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) expects thunderstorms with potential torrential rains in some areas amid rising temperatures approaching 45C in the southern parts of the country on Saturday.

Weather maps revealed the locations of thunderstorms on Saturday, and the EMA called for caution in these areas: Halaib and Shalateen, Ras Banas, Abu Simbel, Aswan, and the New Valley.

The EMA expects very hot and humid weather in Greater Cairo, Lower Egypt, South Sinai, and the southern parts of of the country, while hot and humid on the North Coast.

Temperatures are expected to rise in most parts of the country despite the chances of rain.

The weather at night will be moderately hot and humid in most parts, and moderate and humid on the North Coast.

Moderate winds are expected, sometimes active on the northwestern coasts, causing sand and dust storms in areas of the far south of Upper Egypt and the southern Red Sea chains at intermittent intervals.

  • Greater Cairo: 37C

  • Northern Upper Egypt: 41C
  • Southern Upper Egypt and Red Sea: 44C
