Three Zamalek members held in UAE over fist fight

Egyptian media host Hani Hathoot revealed the current situation of the Zamalek trio Mostafa Shalaby, Nabil Emad “Dunga” and football director Abdel-Wahed al-Sayed, following a fist-fight that occurred at the Egyptian Super Cup.

During his program on the privately-owned satellite channel Sada al-Balad on Monday evening, Hathoot explained that the trio will be detained for the night at a police station, to be presented to the prosecution on Tuesday morning despite paying the fine.

UAE authorities have decided to fine the Zamalek trio an amount of AED 650,000 (equivalent to eight million LE) for assaulting one of the organizers of the Egyptian Super Cup tournament during the semi final between Zamalek and the Pyramids on Sunday.

A source revealed to Masrawy news website that the investigation with Abdel-Wahed al-Sayed is still ongoing, and the trio have not been released yet.

The Egyptian Super Cup final match will be held next Thursday, between Al-Ahly and Zamalek, at exactly eight pm in the evening.
