Three vehicles destroyed as balcony collapses in Alexandria

A balcony of an old building has collapsed in Alexandria destroying three vehicles that were parked below.

No casualties were reported in the incident, which occurred in Mostafa Kamel Street in Al-Raml district, east of Alexandria.

The old, nine-storey building, located on an area of 650 square meters, has four apartments on each floor, each of which is occupied.

The balcony that crashed to the ground was from a second-floor apartment occupied by a 72-year-old woman.

Police from the nearby Raml police station filed a report, and the prosecution department has started investigations into the how the balcony came loose.
