North Damanhur's top prosecutor Hazem al-Kehaily referred a police officer and two policemen to criminal court Sunday for beating a defendant to death at the Rashid Police Station in Beheira.
People from the Rashid village, among them the victim's relatives, expressed their grief and rage over the incident. The victim had been arrested for possessing an unlicensed weapon. His relatives protested outside the North Damanhur's prosecutor's office to demand the policemen be punished.
