Abdel Sattar Fatehy, head of the censorship office, said he has approved three movies to be shown during the Eid holiday season without cutting any scenes, while he had reservations with regard to two other films, which are being revised by the producers to be shown after the holiday.
The approved films are “Shadd Agzaa” starring Mohamed Ramadan, “Noum Al-Talat” starring Hany Ramzy and “Hayati Mebahdela” starring Mohamed Saad, while the revised films are “Awlad Rizq” starring Ahmed Ezz and “Sokkar Morr” starring Ahmed al-Fishawy.
With rgard to inappropriate scenes appearing in certain TV series, Fatehy said the producers did not conform to the remarks of the censorship. “We will take legal action against them, that could result in imprisonment and fines,” he said.
“Unfortunately, we have no control over materials shown on satellite channels because those channels are the responsibility of the Ministry of Investment,” he said, calling for a protocol to be signed between the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Investment for that purpose.
