Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of Saint Mark, began the Christmas Mass at the Cathedral of the Nativity in the New Administrative Capital.
President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi participated in the 2025 Coptic Christmas celebrations, where he was welcomed by the attendees with flags and cheers at the Cathedral of the Nativity in the New Administrative Capital.
The President offered his congratulations to Pope Tawadros and all Christians on the occasion of Christmas at the Cathedral of the Nativity in the New Administrative Capital, saying: “Happy New Year to you all, and may His Holiness the Pope be in good health and peace, and we are all in good health and peace.”
“God willing, this will be a happy year, better than the past years by His grace,” Sisi said, adding, “I monitor all matters and observe all reactions. Concern may be justified, and it’s important to understand that,” he stated.
“I’m not just addressing you but the entire world, inside and outside Egypt through,” he added.
Sisi left the Cathedral of the Nativity in the New Administrative Capital after offering his Christmas greetings.
The Pope presided over the Christmas Mass on Monday, at the Cathedral of the Nativity, with the participation of a number of bishops of the Coptic Orthodox Church.
A number of ministers, members of the House of Representatives and the Senate, public figures, writers, journalists, heads of churches, and Copts from various governorates participated in the church’s celebration.
Many bishops and priests from all over Egypt also participated in the Christmas Mass, in addition to prominent religious figures and senior officials.
