Ali abdel Fattah Hassan, head of the Takfir wal-Hijra organization in North Sinai, and a collaborator were arrested on Thursday by armed forces in al-Kharrouba area.
Another 25 extremists accused of attacking security and armed forces in Sinai were arrested. Eight others believed to be involved in several terrorist operations were also arrested. Three tunnels used for smuggling people and goods were discovered and destroyed. Eight vehicles, 11 motorcycles used by terrorists, and 15 havens were destroyed during security campaigns in the cities of Arish, rafah, Sheikh Zowayyed and Be’r al-Abd.
An armed forces patrol arrested a terrorist early on Thursday at al-Qassima area in central Sinai for possessing large amounts of arms and ammunition.
