Taxi drivers block Arish road with petrol shortage protest

Taxi drivers blocked the main road in Arish, the capital of North Sinai Governorate, Thursday in protest of a petrol shortage.

Dozens of the vehicles lined up on the road and demanded 80 octane petrol.

Fathy Gomaa, the Solidary and Social Justice Ministry deputy in Arish, said the crisis would be resolved in a few hours, when the governorate expects to receive 80,000 liters of diesel oil and 80 octane petrol.

Authorities were negotiating with the drivers to unblock the road.
