The general elections committee in Daqahlia excluded controversial TV host and owner of Faraeen Channel Tawfiq Okasha from the parliamentary elections on Wednesday, without explanation.
Okasha had earlier announced his electoral bid in the Nabrawa and Talkha constituency.
The committee released the list of 332 eligible candidates, out of a total of 417 candidates, who had submitted their paperwork for the House of Representatives elections in Daqahlia.
Excluded candidates were angered following the committee's announcement, with Okasha supporters proceeding to demonstrate outside the election committee's headquarters.
