Field Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi, head of Supreme Council of Armed Forces (SCAF), on Saturday met in Cairo with Mahmoud Gebreel, head of the Transitional National Council, which currently rules Libya, and the delegation accompanying him.
Tantawi discussed the latest developments in Libya and means of strengthening political, economic and security relations between the two countries, said the state-run news agency MENA .
Gebreel thanked the Egyptian armed forces for supporting the Libyan revolution and for its commitment to organizing and securing the flow of Libyan refugees to Egypt.
Gebreel stressed that the Libyan Transitional National Council is the only legitimate representative of the Libyan people.
Lieutenant General Sami Anan Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces and deputy head of the SCAF attended the meeting along with Mohamed Kamel Amr, the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, a number of SCAF members and the former Libyan Foreign Minister Rahman Shalqam.
