Summoning Egyptian ambassadors to European countries was expected: Foreign Ministry

Egyptian Foreign Ministry stated that summoning Egyptian ambassadors to European capitals was an "expected diplomatic move" given the political situation in Egypt.

Badr Abdel-Aty, Foreign Ministry spokesperson, said that summoning Egyptian ambassadors was out of European leaders' concern about the political developments in the country.

He added that all the meetings were ordinary and went as expected with the Egyptian ambassadors explaining why the government had to disperse the 6-week old pro-Morsy protests after the Muslim Brotherhood left no channel for dialogue, according to him.
